About Linda

The story behind the garden.

Linda in her garden

A Lifelong Garden

What began as a small patch of flowers gradually became something much more.

Linda started this garden years ago while looking for a quiet place outside to find a little peace during a difficult time, after her husband David was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Working in the garden became a way to slow down, focus on something beautiful, and spend time outdoors.

Over the years, that small patch grew into a landscape filled with color, structure, and carefully chosen plants. Today the garden is best known for its extensive collection of more than 200 daylily cultivars, arranged in beds that make it easy to stroll, compare varieties, and enjoy the blooms at their peak in early summer.

But the garden is more than daylilies. Visitors will also find mature rose beds maintained through Linda's membership in the local Rose Society, a shady hosta garden filled with interesting foliage textures, and layers of clematis, hydrangeas, and seasonal perennials that keep the garden changing throughout the year.

Linda has become something of a familiar face at local garden centers, always searching for a new variety to try. What time she doesn't spend outside planting, mulching, or tending the beds, she's usually watching her favorite gardening channels on YouTube and learning about new plants to add to the garden.

Her doctors are often amazed that she can spend eight or ten hours outside in the summer heat, hauling bags of mulch and working in the soil. But for Linda, it never feels like work.

The garden has simply become part of who she is.

Today, the space offers a relaxed and welcoming place for visitors to wander, sit for a while, and enjoy a wide variety of plants at their seasonal best.
